10:30 am in Church
St. John the Baptist offers Anointing of the Sick every 5th Sunday following 9:30 AM Mass.
The Rite of Anointing tells us there is no need to wait until a person is at the point of death to receive the Sacrament. A careful judgment about the serious nature of the illness is sufficient.
Who should Be Anointed?
- Any person who is seriously ill
- People who are about to undergo surgery
- Anyone recovering from an accident
- Anyone with a serious chronic disease
- Elderly in weak condition even if no serious illness is present
- Anyone suffering from a serious mental disorder
- Sick children with sufficient use of reason to be comforted by the sacrament
